I’m Felicity.
I’m a Dubbo local, a mum, and a primary school teacher with 19 years’ experience supporting children in our community. I’m also an accredited Multisensory Structured Literacy Specialist (MSL) with the Australian Dyslexia Association (AMADA). My approach is grounded in evidence-based practice, but always shaped around the individual child. I’m passionate about helping children who find reading, writing, and spelling challenging, and I believe every child deserves the support they need to succeed. My sessions are structured, hands-on, and fun, helping children build strong literacy foundations, gain confidence, and enjoy learning.

MSL helps students understand how written language works, rather than relying on guessing or memorisation.
By explicitly teaching sound–letter relationships and spelling patterns, students become more confident and accurate writers.
MSL is aligned with the Science of Reading and is widely recognised as best practice for students with dyslexia and related learning challenges.

SLI is a private practice offering both specialised literacy intervention and tutoring. Sessions are usually held face to face in our private practice or as school withdrawal sessions (with parent and school permission).
Face-to-face sessions provide the most engaging and supportive learning experience for children. In some situations, Zoom sessions may also be available, helping families continue to access support when attending in person isn’t possible.
Yes — absolutely. Homeschooling families are very welcome at SLI. We understand that every child learns differently, and support is always tailored to your child’s individual learning style and needs. Sessions can sit comfortably alongside your home learning program, with structured, evidence-based literacy support to help build confidence in reading, writing, and spelling.
No not at all - a formal diagnosis isn’t needed to access support. We understand that seeking a diagnosis can feel overwhelming and take time. Every child begins with a comprehensive assessment so we can understand their literacy needs, and specialised support can start straight away, tailored to your child.
For the best progress, we generally recommend 2–3 sessions per week, as regular practice helps skills develop more quickly and confidently. A discount for multiple sessions is available.
That said, we understand how busy school terms can be. If once per week is what works for your family, your child will still be supported, with optional revision activities provided to help reinforce learning at home.
Small Group Phonics sessions run once per week during the school term. When you enrol, your child’s place is secured for the remainder of the term. For example, if your child joins in Week 6, their spot is secured for the final four weeks of the 10-week term.
We also offer intensive phonics sessions during the school holidays, running over three fun, focused days. Dates and booking details will be announced closer to each holiday period.
MSL intervention and Small Group Phonics sessions are billed per school term. More information can be found in the Key Information tab.
Intensive Small Group Phonics sessions are paid at the time of booking and run over three consecutive days during the school holidays. Session dates and booking information will be announced closer to each holiday period.
